Ongoing

  • Adult Sewing Monday or Tuesday night weekly class 6-9PM
    $120 for 4 weeks
    Never learned to sew? Remember learning how to sew in middle or high school? This series is a great chance to learn or update your sewing skills. It’s always fun to sew with others! Sewing machines and myriad gizmos/ sewing tools provided. First project provided and supply list handed out at first class.
  • Sewing After School (SAS):
    $120
    Sewing After School is an ongoing program designed to cover all the basics of sewing. Students complete simple to more advanced projects as their skills grow. “New to sewing” students begin with sewing machine basics while crafting a pillowcase with French seams and a pair of pajama pants. “Continuing” students’ projects are skill and interest driven. Classes are formed in 4 week sessions and are multi-leveled. Materials for the first project are provided. Make-up classes may be available with instructor permission. No experience needed.
    Classes meet Tuesday or Wednesday from 4-6PM during the school year, but students may arrive as early as 3:30PM.

    Supply List:
    • 3.5 yards flannel (pre-washed)
    • 1 yard of 3/4-inch elastic
    • 🚫 No plain, plaid, or Lux please.

  • Learn to Sew Monday – Friday, either AM (9-12) or (2-5) PM session
    $150
    Designed for students with little or no prior sewing experience. Learn threading, fixing tension, sew straight and curved seams and how to use a pattern. Sew a “Burrito” style pillow case and a pair of pajama pants. By end of camp, participants will be able to tackle a simple sewing project with confidence. Sewing machines, handouts, and patterns are provided.

Advanced Sewing with a S.T.E.A.M. Focus

  • “Fashion Design, Garment Construction” July 8-12* 1-5PM
    $160
    Create a concept board, explore how to create a flat pattern and also practice draping fabric to create your own special design features. Projects will scaled to fit an 18″ doll (such as an American Girl Doll) to create a prototype.
  • “Science & Stuffies” July 22-26* 1-5PM
    $160
    Learn about the science of sewing machines. Sew by hand, with a machine, on a treadle, choose from new fibers and old fibers, recycle an article of clothing. Make something to donate and something to keep. Sewing is a multidimensional Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math activity!
  • “Craft Sampler Camp” July 29 – August 2, either AM (9-12) or (2-5) PM session

    Let’s try out as many crafts as we can fit into the week! Projects can include: glass etching, beaded jewelry, tie dye, paint crafts, needle felting, weaving, decoupage, and papercrafts…

  • Open Sew August 12-16* 1-5PM
    $160
    In this camp students can bring a project of their choice, and work on it with supervision and assistance or choose from several studio projects. This class is for students who are very comfortable with threading and operating a sewing machine, and are able to sew independently. Permission required to register for this camp. There is no supply list for this camp, as each student will bring their own project.
    Studio projects require a $20 supply fee payable at first class.
